HISTORY COULD REPEAT ITSELF

It’s always possible that history could repeat itself. With the way things are with oil shortages and prices today it could be upon us any time.

During WWII gasoline ration cards were issued so the federal government could control the supply and demand of fuel oil. We were in a major war and the fuel for tanks, ships, jeeps, airplanes etc. had to come first.

People would have to ration themselves as to not use up all their gas.

Look around you. We are at war in Iraq, Afghanistan, and now this morning on the news I hear talk of big trouble with Iran. And here we are without enough oil. In fact, the war is costing more of everything than planned. Now they have no idea when it will all be over and our troops can come home. So what happens if we don’t have enough money to support our country, the war, and not enough gas here at home.

Rationing could happen again. Many people are trying to sell their gas guzzlers but money is short for others too and they aren’t looking to buy a gas guzzler either.

There is a lot of talk about using different products and different ways to save money so everyone can continue to afford gas. That seems backwards to me. What about saving on gas by using ethanol.
