There are seveal places
to find recipies for making ethanol.
To answer your
questions:
The ph of the wash/mash
will need to be in the range of 4.5 to 5.5. The manufacturer of the
yeast that you use will tell you what is optimum for the particular
strain of yeast that you are using. Some yeasts flurish at a
little higher PH while some will die in high PH.
Ph is tested with litmus
paper available on our website.
Ph is increased and
decresed by atting either Acid or Basic materials. I have found
that PH increaser and decreaser from the Pool chemical section of
Walmart is a good way to go.
The PH levels are
related to the Health and welbeing of the microbes that will be
converting the sugar to ethanol;. They are very picky about the
water thay live in and the temperature of that water.
I hope that this
helps.
We are available on a
consulting basis to help people with fermentation and distilation
problems on a commercial scale. . The yahoo group alcoholfuel
is a great group to join. You can ask questions and get help there
for free.
I hope this helps. Let
me know how else I can be of assistance.
